Fridays on the Patio - Brazil on the Patio
March 25, 2022, 4:00-6:00 pm - EDT
Location: KJCC Atrium & Patio at 53 Washington Square South, New York, NY 10012
The KJCC Fridays on the Patio Program works to connect NYU students and faculty and invite them into the Center for cultural discussions and community building during select Fridays from 4-6pm. We aim to provide a diverse array of programming, so that all community members feel welcome and celebrated.
BRAZIL AT FRIDAYS ON THE PATIO: Come join us for a screening of the feminist Brazilian short films Sulanca (1986) by Kátia Mesel and Creche Lar (1978) by Maria Luiza d’Aboim, shown in the original Portuguese with English subtitles. Followed by a discussion with William Plotnick from Limite and NYU’s Cinema Studies and Alejandra Rosenberg-Navarro from the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. We cannot wait to celebrate a piece of lusophone art and culture with you!
After the screening, stay and hear about all of the different programs and initiatives around Lusophone studies at NYU with faculty, students and staff who teach and research about Portugal and Brazil.
Guests are encouraged to RSVP via our Google Form available at kjcc.org or posted weekly with the KJCC newsletter (sign up at: kjcc.org).
